Sharon AshworthBlocks and Strips Rug in Summer and Winter
Webs pattern adapted by Barbara Elkins A rug for my studio I wanted to learn to weave interesting rug designs so I purchased this pattern and Collingsworth Rug yarn. Not long afterwards, I was able to take a 4-end block weave rug course with Jason Collingsworth where I learned techniques to make unique rug designs. I quickly realized my Harrisville loom was probably not the sturdiest loom to make these rugs. A few years went by and I finally signed up for a weaving course at the Indianapolis Art Center and used a Standard Schacht Loom to make the rug that is pictured. The Arts Center offered not only the opportunity to learn and use their looms but also to interact with the other weavers taking the course.
