Double Weave Ikat Yardage

Faux Ikat yardage to be woven into a shift/top.
The random threading of the different shades of natural resulted in subtle groupings of color throughout the fabric.   Even though it’s double weave, it has a nice hand and is not heavy.

Jennifer Moore’s workshop was so interesting with the variety of combinations provided by double weave.  It sparked an interest in seeing what could be done. Then the arrival of Vav magazine (No.4, 2019) with the faux ikat project.  And I had a stash of various silk threads staring at me.

Details
The warp is a random selection of 5 natural color silks ranging from 60/2 to 10/2 sett at 48 epi (24 each layer).
It was threaded 4 per dent in 12 dent reed.  The little crosses were 20/2 hand eyed indigo silk.
