Previous Meetings 2019 (other years here)
Here's a listing of past programs you may have missed!
FOOD, PATTERNS AND BLANKETS
November 16, 2019: Even if you did not accept either of the 2019 challenges, please come to our final meeting of the year to celebrate a good year, with brunch provided by the 2019 board. And if you did accept the challenges, bring your blanket to be donated to the Linus project and/or your two placements to put into a blind exchange. Here is a short form to fill out to go with your placements, so that the recipient can duplicate them if they want to weave more to match:
Placemat pattern, P.# and book:__________________________________________
Fiber (i.e. 8/2 cotton, etc.) and color:______________________________________
EPI and total # of ends__________________________________________
Your Name:__________________________________________________
Put that in with the two placemats and roll them into a cylinder. We will have tissue paper and ribbon to wrap them when you arrive. We do need to keep the 8-shaft and 4-shaft weavings separate. During the meeting, we will have a number drawing for each weaver who brought one to pick one and then show what you have received.
For the original weaver, it will be a time to talk about how the challenge worked for that weaver and what they want the recipient to know. So our program is a giant show and tell! See you on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Crackle Potential is Enormous! by recent workshop participants
October 19, 2019: There is so much variety and so many possibilities in this weave structure that everyone in the workshop was fired up. Come this month to take a look at how various crackle patterns are constructed, how the blocks allow for ease of design, and how the same fiber color can change from block to block.

September 21, 2019: This month Dagmar will present one form of "weaving in the round", Teneriffe or Sun Lace, which is woven on a round warp. For those interested in giving it a try, there will be a hands-on tutorial.
Midwest Weavers Conference 2019 Recap & Our Annual Stash Share/Sale Event
August 17, 2019: Come hear about what took place at the past Midwest Weavers Conference.
Also this month we will have our annual stash cleanout. So bring what you want to give away or sell. If you
want to donate any fiber or weaving items to the guild for us to sell and bank the profits for our treasury, that would
be great. We will start the sale after the regular meeting and program. Now is the time to clean out your storage
bins, shelves and tools and bring them to the August 17th meeting!

Member Favorites
May 18, 2019: Please think about what are your favorites related to weaving. It can be anything from a favorite loom, structure, pattern, yarn, tool, book, etc. Bring your favorite to this next meeting, if possible, and be prepared to explain why it is your favorite.
Introduction to Pin Loom Weaving with Dagmar Frerking
April 20, 2019: This month's program will be an introduction to Pin Loom Weaving. It will look at different types of looms, including how to make your own, and the two basic types of pin loom weaving: the regular 4-step vs. continuous strand weaving. We will also look at how to achieve patterning and finally at ideas on what all can be made out of pin loom weavings.
I would like to ask everyone who has a pin loom to please bring it, as well as any weavings you have done on it.

Cut Pile Carpet by Anne Reaves
February 16, 2019: In the spirit of catching up by having both January’s (Challenge) and February’s programs in February, I will give a brief history of cut pile carpets. Then I will give cardboard “looms” to participants to try out the cut pile knots on a simple design while January’s program is underway. If you’d like to try it, bring a pair of small, sharp scissors and 8/2 wool leftovers (or something equivalent.) If you want to use your own small loom, warp 10 threads per inch (makes 5 knots).
